Equip, Empower, Encourage

Kingdom Prayer Initiatives is a non-profit organization that aims to equip, empower, and encourage believers in the way of God.

Here’s the motivation call for ministry:

“Get out of the tree — get down by the fire.”

training & equipping

Kingdom Prayer Initiatives hosts and creates many different trainings, equipping events, and unique prayer experiences across Cincinnati that make encountering God and hearing His voice more accessible. We want to equip people with practical skills to minister like Jesus did in everyday life, as well as in church. We want to share the mysteries of God and help it all make sense.

Regularly recurring events like Prophetic Prayer & Communion provide our community with a space to corporately encounter God through His word, His Spirit, and His people. We have a strong desire to train other leaders in this kind of ministry, so we’ve spent time equipping other churches in this same kind of gathering, propelling many others in Cincinnati to further encounter with God.

We've also spearheaded a chapter of the School of Kingdom Ministry (SOKM) at Northstar Church. Each fall, we begin a new school year with SOKM with a close group of believers who are eager to learn how to minister in the power of the Spirit. The program is a powerful way to equip people to recognize the gifts the Spirit and to flow in them while living a naturally supernatural life.

individual ministry & consult

In everything we do through Kingdom Prayer Initiatives, individual ministry and consult is the heartbeat. Our founder and director, Rusty Geverdt, has spent years encouraging, teaching, and consulting with those who seek godly advice and counsel. His unique form of spiritual discernment, borne out of a lifetime of prayerful history with God, has been valued by individuals and leaders both in business and communities of faith. He meets regularly in mentoring relationships with those seeking understanding in the ways of God, and brings pastoral wisdom and experience both at Northstar Church as an elder, pastor, and ministry leader, and to the church at large in Cincinnati.

Think we can provide some encouragement and consultation? Send Rusty a message:

pastoral prayer & care services

We partner with likeminded ministries around the city of Cincinnati and across the world by bringing pastoral prayer and care services to leaders of non-profits and for profit organizations as they seek to serve the needs of their constituencies more deeply. Specifically, we are focused on encouraging the persecuted church, the poor, and the disenfranchised with a message of hope and healing.

rusty geverdt

Rusty is the founder and director of Kingdom Prayer Initiatives. He brings a unique blend of ministry experience, cultivated over 35 years in both domestic and international ministry settings. He loves to share the stories of what God is doing all over the world. Currently, he and his family live in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he serves as missionary, the prayer pastor and an elder at Northstar Community Church in Loveland, Ohio, and considered a pastor-at-large in the city.

Rusty has a prophetic edge as he is continually finding God in everyday situations, which are often the substance of his ministry and the subjects of his writings. He and his wife Jen have four children ranging from 14 to 30 years. Life is full but that's how it goes, and you can often find them relaxing around the backyard fire pit in the cool of the day. Which also frames some of his motivation for Kingdom Prayer Initiatives.
